The Narayanpur Block Full Coverage Rural Water Supply Scheme aims to ensure sustainable access to potable water for every household in Narayanpur, Jamtara district. This project is guided by the Central Public Health and Environment Engineering Organization (CPHEEO) and aligns with the Jal Jeevan Mission initiative.

Current Water Sources

Currently, the community relies on various sources for drinking water, such as hand pumps ,ponds, dug wells and rivers.

Objectives

  • Provide Sustainable Water Supply: Transition from traditional water sources to sustainable surface sources
  • Enhance Community Participation: Involve village water security committees in decision-making and implementation
  • Improve Health and Sanitation: Ensure safe drinking water to reduce waterborne diseases

    SOURCE IDENTIFICATION

    The Maithan Dam built over Barakar river contains storm water, surface water & runoff etc. The storage of water is sufficient for the design year (2051)
